Spring Hill Fire Rescue in conjunction with Hernando County Sheriff's Office, Emergency Management, Hernando Utilities Department and Department of Public Works is introducing a New Emergency Notification System called CodeRED™.
The CodeRED™ Emergency Notification System is an extremely high-speed telephone communication system available to all public safety agencies in Hernando County for emergency notifications. CodeRED™ employs a one-of-a-kind Internet mapping capability for geographic targeting of calls, coupled with a high speed telephone calling system capable of delivering customized pre-recorded emergency messages directly to homes and businesses at the rate of up to 60,000 calls per hour.
Listed below are examples of situations when the CodeRED™ system could be utilized by Spring Hill Fire Rescue:
